Strain Profile

Lion’s Mane is a visually striking mushroom, highly prized for its meaty texture, and flavours comparable with lobster.

Spongy, and sometimes semi-hollow, the fruiting body is white to pale cream coloured, yellowing as it passes peak maturity.

As well as making a delicious meal, Lion’s Mane is also revered for its medicinal properties.  H erinaceus has been reported to have anti-cancer properties, lower cholesterol, and even a number of neurological benefits.

Yields are best on supplemented hardwood sawdust. Grown indoors on sawdust supplemented with wheat bran, you can expect a Biological Efficiency of 90-140%.  

This strain was originally collected in Germany. It fruits from 18-24˚c.
