Golden Oyster Mushrooms

Strain Profile

The Golden Oyster mushroom is a stunning species of Oyster mushroom believed to originate from the forested subtropics of southeast Asia.

A striking golden colour, it fruits on a wide range of substrates including: hardwood logs, sawdust, and straw.  As an Oyster mushroom, it is relatively forgiving, making it an ideal species for beginners.

Yields are not as high as other Oyster species such as Blue Oyster. Grown indoors on wheat straw, you can expect a Biological Efficiency of 25-75%.  The mushrooms are fragile post-harvest, and are highly-prized for their complex, nutty flavour.

Collected from a wild specimen in Europe, this strain fruits from 22-30˚c.
