Each species is grown on nutrient rich agar, specifically tailored for each species to encourage rapid expansion and strong growth.
Each 90mm triple-vented culture plate is individually parafilm wrapped and packaged. Plates can be stored for 6-9 months under refrigeration between 1-5ºc (except Pink Oyster which should NOT be refrigerated). For best results however, use as soon as possible.
Our gourmet mushroom cultures are carefully prepared in a sterile lab environment. Agar is autoclave sterilised at 121°c before being poured in a ULPA Laminar Flow Cabinet in strict lab conditions. Our lab filtration is rated to ULPA U15, far exceeding the industry standard HEPA 13/14.
Only when we are certain each plate is clean and totally free of contamination do we make it available for sale.
